The strength of Alhouse Deaton can be found in the people who operates our company: Marty Smith contributes his expertise in the field of acquisitions, re-positioning and managing commercial real estate properties, while Jeff Deaton brings his experience in the development of over 1,000,000 sq. ft. of real estate projects that include office buildings, retail centers, industrial buildings and data centers throughout the S.F. President and Owner
Mr. Smith is responsible for the oversight of the company's day-to-day operations, the company's third-party management portfolio, and the acquisition of real estate assets for the company's investment portfolio.
Prior to joining Alhouse Deaton in 2001, Mr. Smith was with Jones Lang LaSalle for 11 years. Mr. Smith left the company as a senior vice president with the Capital Markets Group in San Francisco, having opened the Jones Lang La Salle CMG San Francisco office and specialized in the execution of disposition assignments throughout the country. Prior to JLL, Mr. Smith spent 8 years at Cushman & Wakefield as a real estate investment and leasing professional.
Mr. Smith has been in the real estate industry for more than 30 years, with extensive experience in repositioning assets through effective management and execution of business strategies to maximize the asset’s value.
Chief Executive Officer and Owner
Mr. Deaton is responsible for the oversight of the company's day-to-day operations, third-party management portfolio, client relations, and business development.
Mr. Deaton took over Alhouse’s management and changed the name to Alhouse Deaton in 1991. He has been in the commercial real estate business for over 25 years. From the beginning, Mr. Deaton built a portfolio of third-party commercial properties focusing on the mid-peninsula markets of Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Mountain View.
Today, he oversees the business and management operations of the company. His duties include management, leasing, and consulting.
As Regional Director, Ms. Eskew oversees the San Francisco region which includes Alameda and San Mateo County. Shayna is responsible for the overall financial performance of the Commercial Office and Retail portfolio which includes Project Management and Property Operations.
During her 25+ year career in commercial real estate, Shayna has been responsible for managing numerous diverse asset portfolios including High-Rise, Suburban Office and Historical buildings for companies such as CBRE, Jones Lang LaSalle, Spieker Properties, Equity Office Properties, PM Realty Group and Catellus Development Corporation.
Over the years Shayna has developed particular interest in sustainable building initiatives, green energy and LEED certifications.

Mr. Greenfield He handles independent brokerage focusing on leasing of office and retail properties in Oakland. Tom Greenfield's commercial real estate career spans over 35 years. He has held senior real estate management and operation positions with Vallco Park, the Regis Company (now Sares Regis), the Raiser Company, Pell Development Company, and the Oliver Company. In addition, he has held marketing/brokerage positions at the Robert Butler Company, Keegan and Coppin, Colliers International and Avison Young.

Ms. Kulasic is responsible for providing solutions for daily tenant requests, coordinates vendor schedules and property visits. In addition, she assists the property manager in the financial reporting and capital improvement projects for the properties in her portfolio.
Mr. Klagstad is responsible a large office portfolio in downtown San Francisco, overseeing the property and engineering staff at the buildings. As a Senior Property Manager, he works directly with the property owners as well as directing the operational and financial success of the portfolio.
Mr. Klagstad is an experienced veteran of the commercial real estate industry with over 20 years of experience in the business at properties ranging from Class A hi-rises to industrial/tech centers.
Ms. Gottfred is responsible primarily for A/P, A/R, financial reporting and accounting for the San Francisco, San Mateo, and East Bay properties. In addition, she prepares monthly financial reporting, annual budgets and financial reconciliations.
Ms. Bond is responsible for a large office complex in Silicon Valley, overseeing the property and engineering staff at the buildings. She is responsible for the operational and financial performance of the portfolio.
She is a veteran of the commercial real estate industry with over 20 years of experience of managing commercial real estate assets in Silicon Valley.
Ms. Do is responsible for providing solutions for daily tenant requests, coordinates vendor schedules and property inspections for the office buildings she manages in the South Bay. In addition, she assists the property manager in the financial reporting and capital improvement projects for the property.
Ms. Haines is responsible for assisting with the management of the company's Palo Alto office, retail portfolio, and industrial portfolio. She works directly with property owners, tenants and property vendors to make sure that all properties are operating efficiently, and in addition, Ms. Haines assists with the bookkeeping and accounting for the Palo Alto office.
Mr. Hammon is responsible for the management of a portfolio of office buildings in San Francisco and San Mateo County. He works with property owners, tenants and property vendors to make sure that all properties are operating correctly and efficiently.
Ms. Sarantakis is responsible for the management of a portfolio of office buildings in downtown San Francisco. She works directly with property owners, tenants and property vendors to make sure that all properties are operating correctly and efficiently.
Ms. Craig is responsible for providing solutions for daily tenant requests, coordinates vendor schedules and property inspections for the buildings she manages in downtown San Francisco. In addition, she assists the property manager in the financial reporting for the properties in her portfolio.
Ms. Vales has been with Alhouse Deaton for more than 10 years, focused primarily on financial reporting and accounting for the San Francisco, San Mateo, and East Bay properties that our company manages. This includes bookkeeping, accounting, ownership reporting and annual budgeting. Also, as part of her position she is in direct contact with tenants and property vendors to make sure the properties are operating efficiently.
Mr. Meffert specializes in leasing and sales in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. He handles independent brokerage focusing on leasing of office and retail properties along the mid-peninsula.
Mike’s career spans 27 years. With a background covering both real estate and technology, he has helped many new technology firms get started in the Silicon Valley.
Ms. Mansoor's primary responsibility is the general accounting and bookkeeping for managed properties in the Alhouse Deaton portfolio. This includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly reporting, bank reconciliation, and all other general account duties for the properties.
Ms. Smith will be responsible for the oversight and management of the Silicon Valley management portfolio.
Ms. Smith joined Alhouse Deaton as an Assistant Property manager in 2013. Now as property manager, she oversees the overall operations of the properties including inspections and maintenance, negotiates and manages vendor contracts, addresses various tenant/property issues. In addition, Ms. Smith reviews monthly reports, budgets and overall financial reporting to property owners.
